eBay Up for sale is a Very Rare, First Book Club Edition, (BCE), of Danse Macabre by Stephen King. An Early Title by the Legendary Author!! First BCE’s of this Title are Scarce and Becoming Increasingly Hard to Find!! Early Printing with the number line present on the copyright page ending with “3”. Buyers Beware… Sadly, as is often the case with Stephen King titles, we have seen quite a few sellers advertising their copies as TRUE Firsts when they are clearly NOT TRUE Firsts. Whether this is because of simply not understanding what points of issue are necessary to denote a TRUE First or intentional deception, the end result is quite a few copies being offered as Firsts when they are unequivocally NOT TRUE Firsts. We have even seen some copies, that are obviously Book Club Editions or later printings being labeled TRUE Firsts. Quite baffling to us! Do not be fooled, a TRUE First will have a few important first edition points/identifiers. If ALL of these points of issue are not present, then the book is NOT a TRUE First. This copy is NOT a First Edition/First Printing!! This is a BCE, essentially, an early reprint/early printing of this title. If interested, we do have a TRUE First currently up for sale. Published by Everest House: New York, 1981. A First Book Club Edition, (BCE). American Edition. Please remember this is NOT the First Edition/First Printing of this title! One last time, this is NOT a First Edition/First Printing. This rare treasure has some very clearly visible wear, but is still in Highly Desirable, Highly Collectible condition! The wear, however, should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying. The book appears gently read and other than a previous owner signature and date, has no internal writing, no remainder marks, no missing pages and is NOT Ex-Libris. The binding is holding tight and the pages are still surprisingly crisp and clean! Some general/shelf wear along with creases/scuffing/wear to the spine/corners/boards, marks/wear to the edge/fore pages and marks/discoloration/wear to the pages, NOT affecting the text! Please note the wear to the spine/corners/boards, particularly noticeable near/along the edges, the marks on the edge pages and the wear that is present on the pages, particularly noticeable on certain pages. All of the wear previously mentioned is very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. As mentioned before, there is some internal writing! There is a previous owner signature and date, written in pen, and located on the first, blank page. The date written is “11/81”. The writing/page has been closely photographed for your consideration. The original dust jacket is fully intact. Some general/shelf wear along with creases, scuffing, scratches, marks and rips. Please note the wear on the spine, at the corners and near/along the edges! The wear, particularly near/along the edges, is very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. We tend to grade the condition of our books rather harshly and took into consideration any and all of the wear when determining the value of this rare book.
