Does stick to a magnet. “Tintypes” also be known as “Melainotypes” or “Ferrotype” Photographs. Tintypes enjoyed their widest use during the 1860’s and 1870’s and lasted into the very early 1900’s. Since 1999, Tintype Fine Art Studio / e.t.m.collectibles. has been dedicated to bringing an unparalleled collection of the highest quality reproduction, facsimile tintypes to historical enthusiasts worldwide. With tintypes ranging from the Historical to the Risqué, from the Orientalist to the Unique, we want to be the “one-stop shop” for all your collectible tintype needs. Accuracy in reproduction is our goal, and research is the key to achieving that goal. All of our offerings are based on historical material, and many are exact reproductions of extant tintype currently residing in museums and private collections.
