Vintage and hard-to-find Puma, Germany model 959 Universalladgmesser folding hunter. Production code on the blade lock (75605) indicates January 1965 manufacturing date. The knife is about 4-1/2″ / 11.5 cm closed; the main blade is about 3-1/4″ / 8.2 cm. The main blade is finely etched with Puma logos and legends on both sides; other blades are marked on their tangs. The main blade has been sharpened; it is razor-sharp still; the tip is intact. The handle is a beautifully textured genuine sambar stag secured with brass pins; one side has .800 fitness silver engravable inlay. No cracks or chips on stag handle scales; all parts are tight with no play. This rare Universalladgmesser will be a welcome addition to any collection.
