Revox capstan and general purpose lubricant for all early Revox A77 and Studer B62, C37 reel to reel tape recorders. LUBE KIT – DTE-EH This kit is for earlier capstan motors that use a single open special low noise ball bearing and a bronze bush. This kit contains: 10ml special Mobil DTE extra heavy capstan lubricant in 10ml secure stopper bio sample container. As factory specified for earlier Revox / Studer motors. separate syringe with special needle and cover for fine drop by drop applicationWhy 2 bottles applicators. Well because we find both are very useful so that you dont waste or make a mess. The larger bottle dispenses normal type eye dropper size drops whilst the smaller one with its fine needle dispenses micro sized drops to tight areas. Both very useful and convenient. F FOR EARLY A36 – F36 AND G36 early models you also IN ADDITION need to use equivalent to Teresso 43. We have the modern Mobil DTE series recommended equivalent with the same viscosity as Terresso 43 which is important. Please email us to request or explain. Capstan motors need lubricating every ~500 hours or 6 – 12 months and full clean and new bearing at ~2000 hours or 3 – 5 years. Do this and the motors will last a long long time. Most motors I have come across have never been serviced and the lubricating felts are dry. Luckily these old capstan motors are really robust and can be brought back to good serviceable condition. They are relatively easy to dismantle and once upgraded / serviced will run smoother with less noise. With a good clean, new bearings and a lubrication its surprising how well an old motor can run. Dont take a chance on dubious bearing sources or lubricants. Get the full Nagravox kit for all your motors. The DTH-EH and “teresso 43” are fully compatible and can be mixed / changed over.CAUTION. Dont be fooled by the hype over lubricants. Studer, Revox and Nagra specified four types of lubricants for capstan motors. We have all of them being specialist in these marques and as originally specified. Not copies or cheap alternatives. FYI these are Mobil Teresso 43 and E EH for early machines from the 50’s and 60’s, Klueber PDB38, PDP65 and CONSTANT GLY2100 for the later machines 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.VERY IMPORTANT TIP ABOUT LUBRICANTS USE THE CORRECT LUBRICANT SPECIFIED DO NOT MIX LUBRICANTS – EVER!For later Revox and Studer capstan motors after 1987 the correct lubricant is Isoflex PDP65 or CONSTANT GLY2100 and no other lubricant should be used or mixed with it. DO NOT USE ANY OTHER OIL!We also have kits listed separately for: Motor overhaul kits for capstan and reel motors Capacitor and preset adjuster potentiometer upgrades Tape Transport mechanical items such as pinch roller, guide bearings etc NAGRAVOX PARTS – Important Information.
