eBay Yamaha TX7 OS v1.4 EPROM Firmware Upgrade KIT OS v1.4 is the last known firmware revision issued by Yamaha for the TX7. Included will be 1 EPROM chip, which will be labeled accordingly to indicate which IC sockets the EPROM is to be installed to. The OS v1.4 upgrade contains several bug fixes, improved stability and finalized system code optimizations. If requested – A link will be e-mailed to you with the TX7 service manual for your own personal reference. I find this to be quite useful and informative. Keep in mind that the TX7 itself is not for sale, only the EPROM chip is. Before purchasing, it is suggested that you verify the OS EPROM version installed in to your TX7 – To do so, you will need to enter in to the TEST PROGRAM: Hold the Mode/Normal button and Data/Yes and turn on the TX7. You will be prompted to enter in to the TEST program and will see: “TEST y/n ? v1.__ “ Now, if you see that your system firmware is v1.4, it isn’t necessary to purchase this upgrade. Be sure to take note of the marked orientation notch on the side of the EPROM to ensure correct installation. EPROMS inserted backwards will be destroyed. Incorrect insertion of ICs is also likely to cause damage to the board. Rest assured that all EPROM upgrades I send are packaged in anti static reusable packaging and inserted into a bubble mailer. I send all international packages via airmail parcel in order to ensure that your EPROMS arrive safely and in a reasonable time frame. If you want your EPROMS to be sent via international letter mail and have it arrive over a month later possibly damaged, then check elsewhere, thanks. Purchase with confidence!
